In the early hours of the morning we encounter this lioness searching returning from her night hunt and seeking out her cubs that were hidden safely in the bush. She then proceeded to nurse them and play with them, which was a truly wholesome scene to witness. This side-portrait captures her motherly concern as her eyes earnestly search the landscape for her cubs in the wild Masai Mara, Kenya.

Yes, and that morning she was returning to the bushes to look for her cubs that were left there the previous night while she hunts. They then bonded through play and she nursed them too :)
