Such an endearing image! If only I could just rub its belly...lol...wonderful capture!
Nirav Shah replied:
Hehe, it's true, they do exhibit a lot of (domestic) cat-like behaviour and cheetahs are generally not agressive compared to other big cats like lions with regards to humans. Thank you for visiting and having this in your favourites :)

It's amazing really what you captured here. You made a wild cheetah actually look approachable...like I could just walk up and pet it! Perfect timing!
Nirav Shah replied:
Thank you, it's really interesting how much cat behaviour these wild cats exhibit from their lounging around, playfulness, in the case of a cheetah...purring (although it sounds more like a car engine haha), and bonding with others within the same group! They are really fascinating to watch. Of course, when it runs and hunts down prey, that is quite epic...it doesn't look like it's running but flying through the air!! It's a pity that the species is vulnerable, and hopefully, conservation efforts will bring their population numbers up. I intend to put up more cheetah photos so watch this space, I guess :)

What an extraordinary capture! Love this!
Nirav Shah replied:
Thank you, Carmen :) I was lucky to be with a pair of cheetahs that particular afternoon for several hours and observe lots of interesting wild cat behaviour. This was just after he had woken up from his afternoon nap. So happy to know that it made it to your favourites.
