Artist's Description
We were in Buffalo Springs National Reserve, Samburu, Kenya, on our early morning game drive when we came across a pride of lions in a tree. The entire tree was back lit, we were in its shadow. This lion was walking on the ground making its way to the tree to scale it and join the pride. As light filtered through the leaves and the bush it illuminated its outline and face just as it looked up at the tree about to climb it. This provided the dramatic lighting associated with this shot.
