Description
A pair of African Crowned Cranes strike a beautiful pose in the wild Masai Mara, Kenya. With a most regal look, it is of little surprise that this avian species holds the mantle of the national bird of Uganda. They mate for life and perhaps for this reason are seen as a cultural symbol of longevity, peace and happiness. The interactions with this particular pair were stellar and I was excited to grab this close-up shots of the lovebirds. I especially like how the shape of their necks and beaks almost trace out a love-heart.
