The greater flamingo's pink beak with a black tip distinguishes it from the lesser flamingo which has an all black bill. Both species can be found in alkaline lakes where they feed on algae. On this particular day, the waters of Lake Amboseli in Amboseli National Park, Kenya, were calm and gave of beautiful reflections of the sky and this single greater flamingo preening its feathers. I gave it a little extra pink treatment so it looks like the clouds are pink too.

I am a Kenyan photographer with a bias towards wildlife and nature photography who considers it a privilege to capture these moments in the wild, and a joy to share them with you.
